Two Large Asteroids Flying At High Speed Approaching Earth

NASA has announced that two asteroids, 2024 YC9 and 2024 YL1, are expected to approach Earth on Although the two are of significant size, they don’t pose any threat to the humans on Earth and will pass by Earth at a comfortable distance The asteroid 2024 YC9, approximately 44 feet wide and roughly the size of a house, is set to make its closest approach to Earth at 10:17 AM IST. It will pass at a distance of 1,310,000 kilometers, slightly more than three times the Earth-Moon distance. Traveling at an impressive speed of 31,293 km/h, scientists are closely monitoring its trajectory. The second asteroid, 2024 YL1, is slightly smaller, measuring 38 feet—about the size of a bus. It is expected to pass Earth at a safe distance of 2,360,000 kilometers, equivalent to roughly six times the distance between Earth and the Moon. This close approach will occur at 11:33 PM IST. The asteroid is traveling at a speed of 17,221 km/h.
